Sunrise Plaza Shopping Center - Phase I & II

In order to support denser residential development along major transportation corridors in the City of San Jose, Urban Village Planning Districts were created to maximize commercial development. By reducing parking requirements and allowing more retail/office to be built, commercial developers can leverage existing parking lots to create more commercial space. These two new 22,000 SF Retail/Office pad buildings in an existing shopping center in the Santa Theresa area of San Jose re position this retail center to attract new national and regional tenants. The Urban Village overlay strategy was created to promote dense pedestrian and bike-friendly cores centered around a denser retail, service, and transit centers. EHA collaborated with the center owner to create a new retail destination.
