Hanna Boys Center

Chris Hall led the design on this project while at CSDA Design Group. The project was designed to achieve LEED Silver equivalency. The newly constructed campus improvements were part of an overall campus master plan which included: an admissions/alumni center, multi-use auditorium, and multi-use, regulation-sized baseball and soccer fields. The simple gable structures with steel canopies and large expanses of glass are meant to be welcoming and inspirational, and fit in with the local agrarian vernacular. The translucent canopies offer shelter without while still allowing light through, effectively acting as an outdoor skylight.  The warm wood colors of the auditorium, the plentiful windows throughout the buildings and the beautiful grounds establish a serene, dignified, and comfortable setting for the campus of this residential treatment center for at-risk youth in rural Sonoma County.
