What (or who) inspired you to choose a career in architecture

“When I was 13, my parents bought a house that I despised; it was terribly ugly. Right then I decided I wanted to become an architect so that monstrocities like that would never make it past the drawing board. I am proud to say that I have withheld that promise to my teenage self.
